WE ARE PROUD TO BE THE FIRST BRAND TO USE RECYCLED POLYETHYLENE FOAM CORES IN ALL OUR PE BODYBOARDS.

Since September 2019, every Pride PE bodyboard has been made with a recycled PE core. PE boards account for 30% of Pride’s annual production. These cores contain a minimum of 63% recycled material.

Pride Bodyboards is the first bodyboard brand to use recycled PE cores.

By using cores that are at least 63% recycled, we can guarantee that our products keep the same quality while drastically reducing the environmental impact of producing our PE board range.

How much?
These boards are sold at the same price as the non-recycled PE boards they replace. To show our commitment, Pride has undertaken to absorb the additional costs of producing recycled PE boards — costs generated in particular by a higher raw material purchase price, but also by the manufacturing process.

We produce around 2,000 PE boards worldwide every year, with a core weighing 1.5 kg on average. Thanks to this measure we will be able to save 2 tonnes of raw PE per year.

How?
Recycled polyethylene has become more and more accessible over the years, as crude oil resources dwindle. However, since polyethylene foam blocks are mainly used by the global insulation giants, the minimum quantities imposed by suppliers are often out of reach for bodyboard companies. We had to acquire our own stock of foam blocks, which represents a very significant, future-focused investment for the brand.
