MATIAS DIAZ

Chilean and Bolivarian champion.

Matias Diaz was born in Antofagasta, Chile, on 5 October 1994. He started bodyboarding at the age of 7 alongside his brothers Nicolás, Max and Sergio, who showed him the way to the beach in Tocopilla. The waves were not always the best in Tocopilla, but he stayed motivated until he became one of the best bodyboarders in South America, developing an impeccable style. He now lives in Iquique, home to most of the best waves in Chile, and travels quite often to Arica to ride "El Flopos", the best wave on the continent for bodyboarding. Matias won the Iquique Bodyboard Pro in 2023.
