ETHAN CAPDEVILLE

Ethan Capdeville was born and raised in Mimizan, in the Landes region of France, growing up in the water at his father's surf school: bodyboarding runs deep in his blood, as his father is triple world champion Nicolas Capdeville and his brother Noah is a talented rider in his own right. Ethan quickly became one of Europe's brightest prospects, picking up Junior European and French titles before earning Rookie of the Year on the IBC World Tour, a breakout campaign that announced him as a rising force in the sport. Since then he has climbed as high as 4th overall on the World Tour and reached a career-high ranking of 6th in the world, highlighted by a run to 3rd place at the 2023 season opener in Antofagasta, Chile, where he fell to reigning world champion Tristan Roberts in the semifinal. Away from the results sheet, it's Ethan's free surfing that keeps turning heads, with big, technical punts delivered with growing comfort in heavier, more powerful waves.
